    JOB SUMMARY

    The Billing Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic direction of collection efforts from insurance companies.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manages the day-to-day operations of a customer care center billing team across multiple locations with approximately 4 supervisors and 80 indirect reports.
    • Resolves escalated customer billing issues that cannot be addressed at the lead, or supervisor level.
    • Develops and analyzes reports to identify problems and trends, elevates issues and implements corrective action plans as needed.
    • Ensures complaints are reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Identifies and develops process improvement opportunities.
    • Ensures Apria is in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Manages the relationship with payors to resolve issues.
    • Performs other duties as required.

     SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This position manages all subordinate employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management, hiring, and discipline of subordinate employees within the department.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience is required.
    • 8 years of related experience is required.
    • Experience and understanding of a large scale production environment in a National Health Care company, including systems and reimbursement methodologies for both payers and patients.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
