    JOB SUMMARY

    The Human Capital Analyst will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence/Data Analytics and serve as an active partner with HR and functional leaders to perform research and analyses on a broad spectrum of talent programs/initiatives: employee attraction and selection, performance, growth, engagement, diversity, compensation, and retention. This role will uncover data-driven insights to better attract, develop, motivate, and retain Apria’s most important asset, our people.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Apply expertise in people research, quantitative analysis, and data visualization to help Apria recruit, select, grow, and retain talent.
    • Translates business questions into data-driven answers. Uses metrics and provides analytic focus for data driven decisions.
    • Partner with the HR and functional leaders on people projects to identify and clarify critical people issues, deeply understand our people processes, and analyze data to drive improvements.
    • Development, implementation and on-going management of human resources analytics projects. Areas include recruiting, employee lifecycle, benefits, compensation, and integration of HR data into other analytical areas.
    • Develops and maintains data integrity standards to understand associated impacts to reporting and analytics solutions for HR.
    • Assists in the design and management of an enterprise governance model around requests for new HR analytics capabilities, HR reports, HCM/HRIS queries, and changes/enhancements to existing reports.
    • Works with business partners to understand and capture requirements around HR reporting & analytics, facilitates across multiple stakeholders towards decision/resolution, and translates business requirements into reporting solutions.
    • Manages all aspects of HR analytics projects, from project planning to ongoing maintenance.
    • Facilitates coordination between functional and technical subject matter experts as necessary.
    • Responds to ad hoc requests from business partners around HR/Talent analytics.
    • Utilizes HR analytics tool to create reports and dashboards for efficiency, effectiveness, and business outcome reporting to address all levels of audience and governance needs. Communicate statistical analyses and results, along with implications, to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ensures business measures are connected to Talent/HR programs and interventions.
    • Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • Education or experience equivalent to a four-year college degree is required.
    • Graduate degree highly desired. MS/PhD in a field emphasizing people research in organizations (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Economics, Management, etc.).
    • 4+ years of progressive analytical experience, conducting quantitative people research in an organization or consulting environment, including working with key stakeholders to understand and clarify their people research needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Organizational Skills
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Intermediate SQL skills
    • Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as R or Python

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to write correspondence, reports, and presentations to effectively present information.
    • Outstanding analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to determine root causes and provide solutions.
    • Strong data visualization skills required.
    • Experience in Business Intelligence tools including Tableau, Microsoft BI, Cognos BI, and or DOMO preferred.
    • Proficient in writing stored procedures in T-SQL.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

     

    Computer Skills

    • Expert level experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Understanding of relational database principles.

     

    Language Skills

    • English (reading, writing, verbal)

     

    Mathematical Skills

    • College level mathematical skills

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (only include Preferred Qualifications if needed)

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • 2+ years of experience with machine learning, text mining or modeling high-dimensional data
    • Experience developing tools, conducting empirical research, practical implementation, knowledge of best practices in at least three of the following areas: employee selection, employee engagement, performance management, diversity, or retention.
    • Experience conceiving, developing, running pilot tests, implementing, and continuously improving large-scale people processes
    • Experienced in survey design
    • Experience in data science and creating models is a plus

     

    Computer Skills

    • Familiarity with enterprise systems and data, statistical, and database (SQL) packages preferred.
    • Experience with payroll and talent management technologies & be adept at accessing, aggregating, and analyzing data.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
