    JOB SUMMARY

    Employees in this position are responsible for strategically partnering with Company leadership at the local and regional levels to contribute insight, expertise and guidance from a human relations perspective. HR Business Partners will serve as a key member of the Employee Relations team, managing, monitoring and implementing HR strategies to successfully execute the Company’s business strategy while adhering to applicable employment laws and Company policies, promoting a positive corporate culture, and minimizing risk and exposure. Employees in this position must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, urgency and responsiveness.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides counseling to all employees in a manner that fosters a productive and mutually respectful work environment, aligned with organizational culture.
    • Supports regional and local management in setting direction, managing employee performance; resolving employee relations issues; and, providing sound advice from a human resources perspective.
    • Counsels employees in accordance with company philosophy and objectives on such topics as career development, disciplinary process, terminations and employee grievances.
    • Applies a solid understanding of employee relations principles, employment laws and regulations, Company policies, risk, corporate philosophy and goals and creatively analyzes problems, evaluates proposed solutions, and assists in developing strategic action plans.
    • Effectively communications and facilitates participative decision-making.
    • Investigates employee complaints, by reviewing records, interviewing witnesses, documenting findings, recommending action items, communicating results, and following through with action items to completion.
    • Investigates and drafts responses to agency charges (i.e. EEOC) and facilitates resolution.      
    • Assists with implementing Company-wide HR plans, policies, and programs.
    • Assists in planning and executing interventions that facilitate organizational change.
    • Collaborates with cross-functional HR teams, including the HR Service Center, to provide employees and management with excellent customer service.
    • Consults subject matter experts and compliance when necessary in order to provide advice consistent with Company policy as well as federal, state and local laws.
    • Meets project deadlines and performance standards.
    • May assist in facilitating training to employees and managers.
    • Reviews and approves proposed discipline, terminations, and reductions-in-force.
    • Remains current on developments in employment law and industry trends.
    • May assist with gathering information needed for metrics and reports.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    • Four-year college degree is required or equivalent education and experience.
    • At least five years of related experience is required.

     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • N/A

    • Strong working knowledge and experience in key HR functional areas of Staffing, Compensation and Employee Relations.
    • Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
    • Strong consultative, interpersonal, communication, influencing and presentation skills.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment in a complex environment.
    • Strong writing, presentation skills and analytical skills.
    • Must have a collaborative, innovative & pragmatic approach
    • Ability to partner with local and regional executive leadership.
    • Demonstrates a solid business, legal and risk management acumen.
    • Strong investigation skill set.
    • Must exemplify a professional and ethical leader that can also build trust.

    Computer Skills

    • All Microsoft Office applications at and intermediate level or higher.
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ADP EV5, eTime and Learning Management systems.

     Language Skills

    • English (reading, writing, verbal)

     Mathematical Skills

    • Strong level of mathematical proficiency, with the ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data.

     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • At least five to eight years of local and/or regional management or consulting experience in Human Resources and employee relations.

     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • Professional-level certifications in Human Resources such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM –Certified Professional (CP).
