    JOB SUMMARY

    This position develops operations capabilities, and manages performance across assigned distribution operations to achieve performance objectives and to drive continuous improvement.  Distribution operations include production, warehousing, inventory, and transportation

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assures compliance requirements are met – FDA, DOT, OSHA, The Joint Commission, company policies and procedures, and others.
    • Assists in developing, interpreting and implementing company policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for implementing policies and procedures and maintaining a high level of worker safety.
    • Ensures products are efficiently produced and/or acquired and distributed on-time to other Apria locations.
    • Manages relationships & performance with contracted providers, including 3PLs, freight carriers, and other service providers.
    • Contributes to planning and implementing changes to distribution sites and product flow paths - including site selection, layout, construction, equipment, and staffing.
    • Develops and manages operating budgets and forecasts with minimal variance.
    • Tracks and reports critical performance measures and results to senior management, and to employees in assigned operations.
    • Drives reductions in operating expenses through proven improvement methodologies.
    • Determines appropriate staffing levels for effective business operations.
    • Maintains collaborative & supportive relationships with all levels of management.
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This position manages all subordinate of the department and is responsible for the performance management, hiring, and discipline of management within the department.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • Education or experience equivalent to minimum of a four-year college degree is required. 
    • At least ten years related experience is required.
    • At least 5 years leadership experience in supply chain - warehousing, shipping, production, transportation required.
    • At least 5 years of experience developing and managing multi-million dollar operating budgets required.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • N/A

     

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Project Management experience required.
    • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement training required.
    • Proficient computer skills - MS Word, Microsoft Excel.
    • Proficiency with data analysis and drawing conclusions required.
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written) in person and remotely.

     

    Computer Skills

    • Computer savvy with: MS Excel, MS Office and MS Project required.

    Language Skills

    • English (reading, writing, verbal)

     

    Mathematical Skills

    • College level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor degree in an Business or Technical discipline is highly preferred
    • Leadership experience in highly regulated environment desired.
    • Experience with compressed gases, USP oxygen production desired.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • APICS, CSCMP, PMI, or other supply chain certification desirable.

     

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.     Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to moderate noise.
