JOB SUMMARY

 

Migrate, Transform, Secure and Automate - You will help plan, architect, consult and execute on a wide range of workload, application and data/cloud migration and DevOps related projects, working both independently and as part of our systems engineering team.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist with Discovery, Scoping and Planning of cloud adoption related projects
  • Perform proof-of-concept for server and cloud migration projects
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external teams using Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, Slack, etc.
  • Maintain documentation (create, correct, update as required)
  • Communicate activities and progress using Jira and in status meetings
  • Maintain Windows and/or Linux-based environments
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Apria’s objectives and related system interactions through direct outsourced partner and/or Apria’s business staff communications, meetings and project discovery sessions
  • Work closely with partners, and colleagues to define and clarify project plans, deliverables, expectations, and scheduling
  • Contribute to DevOps tool chain implementation, DR and/or security initiatives as a part of the overall server or cloud transformation & migration engagement for Apria

Minimum Required Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

  • 5+ years with multiple operating systems such as Windows and Linux-based systems
  • Experience establishing, deploying and monitoring cloud-based application environments
  • Experience operating virtualization in a data center, migrating applications from data center to cloud, or planning and executing similar scale and technology programs
  • Working knowledge of networking infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, Subnetting, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of cloud security
  • Experience with managing applications in Public Cloud Providers, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience with monitoring of systems, networks for performance, uptime, and security
  • Workload automation and some experience with high-level and scripting languages such as C/C++, C#/Java, Python/Ruby/JavaScript, PowerShell/bash and common application runtime environments Tomcat, .NET, Node.js, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Moderate understanding of networking technologies (subnetting, routing, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
  • Basic database knowledge (SQL/MySQL/NOSQL)
  • US-based

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

  • One or more AWS or Azure certifications

 

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Software Configuration Management and Version Control tools such as Jenkins, Microsoft TFS, GIT etc.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
  • Cloud services billing and cost optimization
  • Certifications- RHEL, Openshift

 

Language Skills

  • Requires a strong command of the English language (reading, writing, verbal)

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
