The VP, eCommerce position is responsible to develop and deploy the eCommerce growth strategy including the operating model, infrastructure / systems, human resources, products, and sales channels to meet or exceed the company’s revenue growth goals.  The VP eCommerce will have responsibility for the P&L of the eCommerce business unit. 




  • Achieve aggressive financial measurements, ensuring the eCommerce business grows to become a key, profitable business line for Apria.
  • Establish ApriaDirect and / or other branding entities as the leader in providing value, products, and services to improve the life of our patients in the home. 
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies for new business opportunities, provide oversight for and coordinate with other relevant organizations within Apria to implement the products/services to be offered on Apria’s eCommerce platform.  
  • Develop high growth business strategies and products for the Apria eCommerce portfolio and collaborate with Apria’s corporate product and marketing teams to identify adjacent eCommerce strategies that support core patient needs.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing to ensure brand and value proposition alignment
  • Monitor the competitive landscape of eCommerce companies, products, and services to sure Apria’s offering, products and positioning are effective
  • Ensure an optimal patient experience and journey throughout the eCommerce experience
  • Create agile, strategic alignment and scalable infrastructure capabilities to ensure Apria is capable of scaling the business in a regulatory and financially compliant manner.
  • Develop omni-market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and other organizations to grow product portfolio and pursue manufacturer channel development opportunities.  
  • Work with senior management on developing market strategies and tactics in developing a strategic marketing plan for new products and services and deepening existing Apria patient relationships.
  • Lead all facets related to product and sales support including collaboration with the field and customer service on patient upselling / cross selling opportunities.
  • Define human resources required to execute the strategy and recruit high caliber employees Develop and engage the team of eCommerce professionals, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Other duties as assigned




  • This position manages a team and is responsible for the performance management, hiring, coaching, and development of employees within the department. The leader is expected to create a highly engaged team by fostering the right culture.

Minimum Required Qualifications



Education and/or Experience

  • Education or experience equivalent to a four-year college degree in business or finance is required.  MBA preferred.
  • At least five years related experience is required in the following areas: growing and managing an eCommerce business; strategic and tactical planning; product / business development; and strategic marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of positive revenue and profit growth.

  • An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
